Suak Sumatera Resort is a beachfront retreat shaped by its surroundings, its collection of Indonesian antiques and its distinctly personal character.
For over a decade, Suak was a family home. Set across five hectares of coconut palms, gardens and open spaces on the shores of the Sunda Strait, it offers a rare sense of space and privacy.
Each room and shared space is individually furnished with antiques, traditional pieces and photographs collected from across Indonesia, with a strong connection to Lampung.
The restaurant continues this connection, serving a menu inspired by Indonesian and Western cooking, using fresh local ingredients and produce sourced from the surrounding area.
With views towards Krakatau and the sea beyond the gardens, life at Suak naturally centres around the outdoors
Suak is not designed to feel like a conventional hotel. It has developed its own character — relaxed, personal and deeply connected to its surroundings. A special place that began as a home, and has grown into something guests can now experience for themselves.

Our in-house restaurant brings together Indonesian favourites and Western classics, with a menu designed to offer something for every guest. Dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients sourced from the surrounding villages, local producers and the owners’ family and trusted partners.
From fresh local produce and seafood to familiar favourites, much of what we serve is connected to the people and businesses around Suak. The menu changes with the availability of ingredients and the seasons, creating food that is fresh, generous and full of flavour, while reflecting the character of the region.
