Suak is a place shaped by family, nature and a deep sense of belonging. What began as a private home by the sea has, over the years, become a place shared with those who come to discover this corner of South Lampung. Many of the things that make Suak unique remain close to their origins, from fresh milk from the family farm and coffee roasted within the family, to produce sourced from the surrounding community and the daily care given to the gardens and shoreline.

The landscape is an important part of life here, as are the people, traditions and quiet details that have become woven into Suak over time. There is no single story that defines Suak; rather, it is found in the collection of small connections between the family, the land, the sea and the community. Together, they give Suak its character—and make each stay part of a story that continues to unfold.

Share Milk & Beach

Suak has always been closely connected to the village around it, and we believe that being part of this community comes with a responsibility to care for it. We do our best to support the surrounding area in practical, meaningful ways—from regularly donating to local schools and families, to providing fresh milk from JJAA farm and helping keep the coastline and village surroundings clean.

Each month, we also choose a local family to support with a small donation, offering assistance where it is most needed. Alongside this, our team continues to collect rubbish from the beach, care for the surrounding environment and encourage others to take pride in the place they call home.

None of these gestures are intended to be grand. They are simply part of our belief that Suak should contribute to the community that has welcomed us, and that caring for a place means caring for the people who live there. Over time, these small acts have become part of the story of Suak, a place that hopes to leave its surroundings a little better than it found them.

From Farm to Village

Our connection to the local community extends beyond Suak itself. Every few months, fresh, unsweetened milk from the nearby JJAA farm is provided to local schools and families in the surrounding villages.

The programme grew from a simple belief that children should have access to fresh, nutritious milk and the benefits it can provide as they grow. By sharing milk directly from the farm, we hope to encourage healthier eating habits while supporting the wellbeing of the children and families who live around us.

JJAA has been part of our story since the beginning, as our first venture in the livestock industry and the reason we first came to this part of South Lampung. Today, the farm continues to have a connection with Suak—not only through the milk served to our guests, but through this small initiative that allows us to share it with the wider community.

It is a modest gesture, but one that reflects something important to us: Suak has always been connected to the people and places around it, and being part of this community means finding ways to give back.

Guests are also welcome to experience the milk for themselves. A glass of fresh, unsweetened milk from the JJAA farm is available complimentary on request allowing you to taste a small part of the story that connects Suak with the surrounding community and the farm that has been part of its history from the beginning.

Keeping Suak Green & Clean

Indonesia is home to some of the world’s most beautiful coastlines and natural environments. Yet in many rural and coastal areas, waste collection and disposal infrastructure remains limited, particularly outside larger towns and cities. As a result, rubbish can make its way into rivers, along coastlines and into the ocean.

At Suak, we believe that a lack of infrastructure should never mean accepting an environment that is not cared for. Keeping our surroundings green, clean and beautiful is part of our responsibility — and it is something we do every single day.

Our guests are always welcome to join us.

A simple 30-minute walk along the beach in the morning, collecting a few pieces of rubbish and helping us keep the coastline clean, can be a rewarding way to begin the day.

There is no obligation, simply an invitation to be part of something meaningful. We hope that the small things we do at Suak inspire our guests to continue the same spirit wherever they go.

Because caring for the environment does not always require a big gesture. Sometimes, it starts with picking up one piece of rubbish.

We also hope that our approach extends beyond Suak. Perhaps a guest sees a piece of plastic on the beach and chooses to pick it up. Perhaps they return home and begin doing the same in their own neighbourhood. Small actions, repeated every day, can make a meaningful difference.

We believe that caring for nature starts with taking responsibility for the place immediately around us. At Suak, we hope to lead by example by keeping our little corner of the coast clean, and inspiring others to do the same.
